Now that I was finally given the ability to change my Gmail username, I happily went to change while knowing that I still have one subscription service active. I kept the subscription because it is the most affordable one. So, I realised that the ads in the app returned because the account was not linked and recognised by the app.
Decided to email to the app support and thought long and hard about this. After a few hours, I decided to change my default email back and the app removed the ads after the synchronisation. However, I still wanted my new email that I liked and finally managed to secure after numerous attempts at my other preferred usernames have been taken. Thanks Google for allowing so much time to pass that I can’t use them.
So, I changed my settings in the Gmail to display my preferred default email to be sent from. It works and does not impact my app. As app developers create the apps, they only recognise the unqiue email as ID, any changes do not sync, so, just update the email with care.
I didn’t want to change the subscription with the new email ID that I had changed because it was way too high with the new fees. From a 6-month charge to a weekly charge that is 5 times higher, I was not going to let go.
