There have been quite a number of drilling sounds from my block. I was wondering why and then I realised that it was time to sell my house. In legal terms by HDB, I mean. Apparently, I have lived in this house for at least 5 years. The minimum number of years for a BTO flat before I can sell my house or sublet it to someone. However, subletting my apartment means at least for 6 months. So, if I ever thought of using AirBnB for my extra income dream, it is now all down the drain. Unless those users are travelling for 6 months.
However, I can still think about subletting a condo, if I ever own one, via AirBnB. While AirBnB has its challenges, the general rule still comes down to us who are going to rent out our homes to strangers. It may not be possible to screen every applicant but the least we can do is to install CCTV in the living room, kitchen and no where else. I highly doubt I want to know what they do in the bedrooms.
The drilling have been going on for weeks now. Almost every month, there is at least one new home owner moving into this resale apartment that they have interest in. I may not live in a prime location but we have a McDonald’s that is opened 24/7, a number of primary schools and secondary schools that are just walking distance of about 15 to 20 minutes depending on the walking speed and a supermarket that is opened 24/7 too.
I wonder how many more people are going to move in for the rest of the year.
