感激遇到你 by Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong07.01.08

I love this song by Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong. They are popularly known as Boscolie by their fans. This is used in War of The In Laws 2 (野蠻奶奶大戰戈師奶)

Oh, baby, I love you, I love you everyday

(Ying Ye 3+1), starring Ming Dao and Chen Qiao En. They used to star in 王子变青蛙 (Prince Turns into Frog). Below is my favourite song that’s being played throughout the series. 16 episodes. I rather loved the fighting scenes although through halfway, they didn’t show them fighting the bad guys anymore.

Babe

Yeh……Yeh……Yeh……
Yeh……Yeh……Yeh……
Wo……Wo……Wo……

Lazy Weekend02.18.08

Sometimes, it’s a good thing to stay at home during weekends. After my visit at 1 Night Stand, I couldn’t fall asleep and decided to watch 洗冤录2 (Witness to a Prosecution 2) from 2am till 4am. My first time staying up so late at home.

Needless to say, I woke up at 11am. Decided to watch 2 more episodes after lunch before proceeding to my friend’s house. HF and I kept playing with the elevators because the flat was built in such a way that you don’t really get to the unit because we were at the correct floor but wrong lift.

Usually, once you see the lift, you would think, it’s the one. However, the lift wasn’t the one. We went down a floor, walked along the corridor, found another lift but still haven’t found the right unit and were starting to wonder if we were given the wrong address. When we reached the other lift, we decided to go up and finally found the unit. Hallelujah!

We were quite early, when JC arrived, she had also committed the same thing we did. Aye, our dear friend left out which lift to take. We played some poker (Ban Luck), I don’t know if I actually won or stayed the same amount. However, I did get 21 3 times with just 2 cards.

By 10.30pm, they started on mahjong. This set of mahjong was of less tiles, not that I am familiar with and they were playing big, since I was happy with my current amount, I didn’t join in.

When I reached home, I still couldn’t sleep, so back to watching the VCD till 3.15am. I was woken up at 9am because of the loud blasting from the television. There went my plans to laze in bed till 10. After lunch, I was sleepy and thus, went to have my nap from 2pm to 5pm. Good grief, I didn’t know that I needed sleep.

My sister said the flowers at Sentosa weren’t that pretty. Hmm, so I guess I didn’t waste my sleep then.

GoodBye MC King01.05.08

It is sad to hear of someone as talented and cheerful as MC King (Jimmy Nah, Lan Qing Xi) pass away at the age of 40. His death cast a spell of sadness for all of us who have watch him in Kopi-O (咖啡乌) as toddlers. Over the years, while his appearances on the small screen were little, he was still fondly remembered as MC King due to his famous role in the coffeeshop drama. Even 2nd Aunt (二姑) whose real name I can never recall would be called as the screen name.

This was what he wrote last year. My rough translation:

I’ll be 65 in 25 years’ time. How would the entertainment circle be in 25 years? Would I still be able to continue being the (sorry, don’t know what that is)? Would we still be gathering together 25 years later? Would half the artistes born 25 years later would rise in status?

Maybe I can’t wait for 25 years later, I could be walking in heaven. Haha.

He left a legacy in the entertainment circle.

Words from his friends

Bryan Wong - The Passing of a Friend

Jack Neo - MC King 走了

Patricia Mok - A Dedication to My Good Friend, MC King

Joanne Peh - MC King

Dasmond Koh - MC King 收

Michelle Tay - Please Tell Me It’s Not True

Yong Mei -

Lao Zha Bor - In Memory of MC King - Jimmy Nah

Quan Yi Fong - Good Bye MC King

Hayden - MC King Rest in Peace

Treasure what you have now.

Is Adam Cheng so Powerful to Affect the Market?10.22.07

Here’s a news update on the Adam Cheng Effect or Ding Hai Effect. The bears are now in the race. BBC is reporting the credit fears that is affecting the famous Dow Jones and share falls prediction for Monday.

What this actor’s name in Chinese is Zheng Shao Qiu (郑少秋) or by pronouncing the same name in Hokkien with a slight pitch change, it means broom. Hence, my previous post on Sweeping Them Away. He did act as the villian in The Greed of Man which is TV drama. This series was based on the stock market.

Interestingly, the effect started in 1990s, he started his acting career in 1970s. Perhaps, 1990s was him in starring roles? However, in 1987, the stock market crashed and his new series is being shown now. The crash was during this period too.

Ultimately, I’m wondering if his appearance in TV series does affect the stock market adversely. They seem to either coincide with the fall or he has a very good name to begin with. Or maybe he should have stuck to his original name 郑創世, hang on, this name has world effect!

Masi Oka in Times Square10.22.07

Here’s a short video of Masi Oka (as Hiro Nakaruma) from TV drama series Heroes helping a tourist to take a photograph in Times Square. Haven’t managed to catch all the episodes from this series.

This video is shot by BuckShotWon, a.k.a. Adrian. This Adrian could be Adrian Pasdar the actor from Heroes. If it is, then “YATA!” as Hiro would have shouted.

Sweeping Them Away10.18.07

It was is known that when a certain actor’s movie or drama is shown on TV, the prices of the stock market will plummet. To think I always thought my father was superstitious. Apparently, my colleagues’ lunch jokes have turned true and they have sold their stocks earlier upon learning that the drama series would be shown starting today.

Looks like the U.S. oil prices have started the bear run.

Stranded? Choose Your Celebrity08.11.07

Haven’t been blogging much here since I moved to this domain. Why? Because I’m having so much fun changing the templates and playing with the plugins. :D Anyway, I’ve been tagged again by Modobs. How come I always get tagged by her? Oh well. This tag asked: “If you were left alone on a deserted island, which celebrity would you choose to spend the time with?”

Interesting question. Now, among my list of idols, I have to choose one. That’s tough. However, choose one, I must. I decided to choose Lee Dong Gun. Yea, I’m crazy, but I can choose anyone, right?

Lee Dong Gun

Reasons why I chose him

  • He’s tall (he should be able to reach the coconuts, I sure hope there are coconut trees on this island).
  • He’s Asian.
  • He’s doting. (Ms Han Ji Hye, don’t mind me borrow him a while, can?)
  • He’s talented in his own field.

Now, I’m going to tag the following to do the same.

Paris Hilton, The Heiress06.28.07

Paris Hilton, Paris Hilton. I hear see online every time. All the blogs are awashed with her name. Is there no getting away with her? No. She is the heiress to the Hilton hotels and any man who can actually manage to tame her shall be allowed a piece of her inheritance. Assuming he can even capture her heart and he is actually allowed to own part of it.

She seems to like lapping all the attention on her, both positive and negative. Seriously, what was she thinking when she said “I hope to be an example to the kids.” when she was going to be jailed or released from jail? I can’t a link to a report, now where did I read it from? Anyway, her stint in The Simple Life lead me to further conclude that she is just someone who has rich parents and doesn’t know how to appreciate the meaning of being poor.

Even her initial scandalous sex romps failed to dampen her high-spirited ways. She broke the law by driving drunk. The suspended license didn’t deter her. Her jail term from the trial to the jail-time to her release were sensational. OMG. How can she generate so much publicity and still manage to charm others, I don’t know.

There’s a parody on her hamburger commercial. Not sure how long ago but the guy in the parody was real funny and vomit-worthy at the same time.

Wah! So Many Sexy Girls06.08.07

Some people are so lucky, pretty and beautiful girls just flock to them like bees to honey. I wonder why. Maybe I don’t have to wonder because he’s the director himself. I’m not jealous of him but jealous of the girls. They are too pretty.
