Recently, I saw a tutorial on how to recycle or give another life to old hard cover books. I found one that my aunt no longer needed and I found it a real pity to just dump it and happened to find a tutorial on how to alter such books into a book purse. Rather easy once you have the materials. It's the handle and the inside that I lack. I have covered it in denim that... Read More »

I love reading. Reading lets me escape from the world and fantacise in the world of Alice in Wonderland (the movie is coming), Xanth creatures and other beautitul characters with wonderful homes. For the past few months, I have been reading other books. Books that have helped me get better focus in life.
Dale Carnegie was a visionary; he knew that everyone would ne... Read More »

It's always amazing to get to talk to people ever since I started volunteering at NLB. I took up a session for the book exchange that would be carried out until 24th Apr 2009 to allow people to exchange their books for coupons to be used on 25th April 2009 at Victoria Street from 10.30am to 6pm.
Quite a number of people asked about the books that could be exchanged... Read More »

I have been keeping myself busy so that I feel useful. Productive even. So far, so good. All I need is to be consistent. This means I need to keep the discipline in line or else, I would stray from my path and goals. I have not completed my wishlist yet. I felt really good when completing some of the things in my wishlist. I felt more alive since it meant that I was g... Read More »

This volunteering took me some time because I couldn't join the earlier batches. It is a hot service because everyone would want to take part but on the day itself, I was rather shocked at the no-show. I am not sure what happened but it is unfair to those who are available on that day being unable to take part because the no-show were taking a... Read More »

My first flea market and I was pleased with some of the sales since I didn't expect anyone to buy the stuff that I have put up. For this first time, I learned the following.
Nobody is willing to pay more than $20 for any electronics, even if they are freaking new.
Everyone will want to pay only $2 for any top because other stalls are selling even cheaper.

Having been toying with the idea of publishing my own book for years, I have finally pushed my lazy butt and published an eBook first. It is just part of what I have written for NaNoWriMo in 2008 and I have been editing it tediously for spelling and grammar.
Having lost the art of writing for more than 10 years, I was nearly on the brink of tears when words fail to... Read More »

I have been bitten by the "Aggressive Reading Bug". Just before CNY, I went to the nearest regional library and borrowed 8 books because they have a promotion. A pity that they can't allow that for everyone except for the premimum membership that I never got around to applying for. Although I have gotten myself into the volunteer programme for NLB.
That was when I ... Read More »

A feeling of nostalgia overcome me when I watched shows like The Days, Hana Kimi and Brown Sugar Macchiato. School crushes were a plenty of course. What's growing up as a teenager without girly crushes over that cute guy in class or another class?
I never shown my bravery at telling any of the crushes that I remotely liked them. The girls in BSM were brave to tell ... Read More »

I love money. Hands up for those who don't! There! See? Nobody has their hands up! All your hands are on the mouse and the keyboard, right? I clever, right? :P
When one is rich, what does one do? Buy property and stuff. When one is poor, what does one do? Sell the assets to raise the funds just so one can eat and take the public transport. Check out Claudia's Garag... Read More »
