This video has instigated quite a huge number of comments ranging from supporters of the 3 louts to pitying the old man. Some have even voiced their concerns and wanted to help the old man.

When DK first posted these ugly foreigners laughing at the “slowest taxi in South East Asia”, Miss Loi corrected the title to “Three Slowest Brains from Europe”. The original video has been removed and a certain Mr B0Davis was pinpointed as one of the brains in the video. I wonder how true it is but then again, online CSI-ers have usually managed to point out the culprit.

After reading the comments, I found myself getting angry at those arse holes. However, before posting anything online, one has to calm down because anything that gets online, stays online. My comments on the whole issue.

• The old man was doing his job and didn’t complain about the load. It’s his job and most people at his age often don’t complain despite being challenged.
• The load laughed at the rider all the way. Obviously, they love the hilarity of one old man pedaling at 2mph carrying 150kg of load that have legs and hands to film the entire ride.
• When they finally stopped, they were trying to bargain the price down further. At this point, they wanted to get away from paying a cent. Freeloaders.
• They obviously have read up something about Singapore. The taxi driver should have gotten out to find out why a trishaw driver was trying to get his due.

At this point, the issue is not about foreigners from (insert country) lording over (insert your country). It is the issue of 3 louts who had the cash to ride a taxi but want to have “fun” while riding a trishaw. They had their fun. And they have disgraced their country, that’s for sure.

Prices are rising and this time it’s noodles. It’s a never ending cycle. Goes to show how dependent we are on the world, no? It also looks like we are progressing to a stage where we eat faster than what the earth can grow. Wheat shortage leads to flour shortage and that further leads to rice and noodles shortage. I guess the price will never fall except in stock markets.
Fuel prices soar leading to petrol price hikes. The calculation for the price of petrol can be complicated because different credit cards give discounts of up to 5% in addition to the station’s different discounts from 3% - 10% for the different premium petrol. I think this has slightly killed my pinning for a private car for now. It’s still relatively safe to take the public transport while it isn’t in some countries.

Maybe we are bluffing ourselves with certain pay raises for some people. Interestingly, KL was warned not to raise the price of bread and flour. Here? It’s going to raise by 30%. Hawkers claim not to raise the price, I believe they will have to in the long term if the price still rise for the next few months.

So, should I be stocking up on Maggie Mee now?

During lunch one day last week, my colleagues were talking about religion. This topic came about because of food. Beef is not eaten by those who pray to the Goddess of Mercy. Pork is not eaten by Muslims. Vegetarians don’t eat any meat.

Religion is quite a sensitive topic and I don’t wish to promote any prejudice. I just wish to understand why some parents are adamant about raising their Christian children as “Child of God” by baptising them at an early age.

While it’s the responsibilities of the parents to ensure that their children grow up well-mannered, polite, respectful and famous for some, I haven’t seen any who claim to be one to be not insulting.

I once met this young lady who was insistent that I listen to her talk on her religion, no prizes for guessing which religion. My attempts at walking away failed as I didn’t have practice on how to avoid talking to strangers who want your attention and persistent in getting it. I had to let her talk and boy, she talked. Finally, her speech done, she wanted me to read a passage from the small booklet in her hand and instructed me to hold it.

I was uncomfortable all this while and didn’t want to read it. After a few tries to get me to read that paragraph, she finally asked if I was feeling uncomfortable about reading it as in my family would object, etc. I told her, “Yes, very.”

That incident, left a bitter taste in my mouth. I don’t know which part of His teachings tell us that everyone must be one of them so that you are considered “saved”. I haven’t read the Bible so I’m guessing here. All I know is that we feel more comfortable talking to people whom we feel is almost similar to us as in thinking. A few incidents that apparently came from the same group as that young lady I met just gave me the impression that I have to be one of them so that I can be their friends.

Just like JG’s friends a few years back. I only went to the church because he asked me to. Just because I went 3 times doesn’t mean I have to convert or blessed by the holy water then I can be your friend (closer).

I’m not against the religion. I’m just confused by the baffling actions of some extremists(?) I do have relatives who are Christians and they certainly don’t behave that way.

Having met a wanker / flasher / pervert, I wanted to know on how to get help in such a situation. While I’ll never know why such people need sexual reprieve from showing off their willies / penis / wee wee in public, I know that they’ll never stop.

One of the ways is to take a photo of that guy. Holla Back New York! accepts submissions of encounters and the photos of the culprits via email. One can rest assured that this doesn’t just happen in Singapore. I regret that there wasn’t enough time to snap one of the pervert I met.

Here’s what you can do when you meet a pervert.

• Most non-violent offenders are seeking sexual kicks by upsetting or shocking you rather than physically harming you.
• Men who rub against women in crowds should be dealt with forcefully and with strong eye contact. Say in a firm voice: “Don’t touch me again, or I’ll call the police.”
• Discourage men who expose themselves by ignoring them, moving away or being coolly disparaging. Such individuals are rarely violent.

In the lift

If he dares to come into the lift when you are alone, try to get out of the lift. Get your handphone ready to call the police and prepare to shout “RAPE!”, “MOLEST!” and whatever words that will arouse people’s attention to help you.

Can’t get out of the lift? Get to the buttons and press the alarm button. Kick his groin hard the 1st time so that you can start on his Adam’s apple with the 2nd hit. After that, with whatever objects like umbrella or bag you have on hand, whack him with it hard. Each time, shouting “Si Molester! Si Bian Tai!” (死色狼! 死变态!) or whatever words that is internationally known to let the rest of the world know that you are in danger.

Be fierce in such situation. Make as much noise as you can like screaming or shouting. They will try to get away when under attack. Memorise his facial features such as moles, ears, nose, eyes, hair, clothes, tattoos, etc.

During the attack, give it all you got because you want to hurt him so that DNA or any sort of identification can be used to find him in case he gets away.

Final Words

The important thing do to when you meet such weirdos or perverts, say something. Taking up self defence or martial arts isn’t that bad if it helps you to use them when the attacker tries to overwhelm to you.

I had a long day. Went swimming with DD and a full dinner to replace what was lost in Swensons. What a waste of the exercise. It was already quite late when I saw a dick. An erection. What this actor’s name in Chinese is Zheng Shao Qiu (郑少秋) or by pronouncing the same name in Hokkien with a slight pitch change, it means broom. Hence, my previous post on Sweeping Them Away. He did act as the villian in The Greed of Man which is TV drama. This series was based on the stock market.

Interestingly, the effect started in 1990s, he started his acting career in 1970s. Perhaps, 1990s was him in starring roles? However, in 1987, the stock market crashed and his new series is being shown now. The crash was during this period too.

Ultimately, I’m wondering if his appearance in TV series does affect the stock market adversely. They seem to either coincide with the fall or he has a very good name to begin with. Or maybe he should have stuck to his original name 郑創世, hang on, this name has world effect!
