Car Shopping
I went to look at cars for the past 2 days. Call me crazy but I don’t care. I’m seriously considering one if my workplace needs to take me an hour of commuting. There is no way I’m going to make my butt sore from sitting on the uncomfortable seats for an hour.
My dad advised me to buy Japan made cars. Quality does count. You don’t want your car to break down in the middle of the road creating a massive jam, do you? Most importantly, you don’t want it to break down in a year either. You want it to last for at least 3 years before it starts to cough.
I can afford only so much. Even with the current low in COE, it’s still an effort in maintaining the loan payments. I still haven’t included the petrol, road tax and other car-related stuff payments yet.
Honda Civic is quite spacious but its pick-up rate (useful for overtaking) is slow and torturing on the engine. The sound it emitted during the test drive was loud. I don’t like such noises because I like my car to be quiet and purring. Not grunting.
After calculating Toyota Vios, Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Lancer and Mitsubishi Colt Plus, I like Vios even though Lancer is cheaper. I like Colt Plus for its built-in Bluetooth, I can connect my PDA phone to it and there’s a speaker near the steering wheel. Cool. I wonder what’s the sound quality of it though.
I found that I won’t be able to go for any holidays at all if I were to own a car. I won’t be able to buy other miscellaneous stuff either.
Therefore, I shall continue to pray that my new workplace location will not be too far from my home. I still want to drive my own car though.
I don’t mind if I win a car or two right now. I hope I can sell it/them and buy my preferred car.
