Empty Ye Pockets!
My mum has always reminded us to empty our pockets before we dump the clothes to the washing machine. When I started throwing my clothes to the laundry myself when I was younger, I forget about the tissue packet, especially the used ones. You know how fibre from the wet tissues sticking to your clean but white pieces stuck in the pockets feels like?
After a few incidents, I don’t put anything in my pockets anymore except the keys. Even later, there’s absolutely nothing in my pockets. I can be forgetful at times. My dad used to leave coins in his pockets and they end up very clean after the washing which my mum will pocket them, well, sometimes when she needs some change.
Last night, a handphone turned up squeaky clean from the washing machine. During the washing cycle, my mum had heard some weird noises from the machine but ignore them after a while since she had something else more important to do. I was washing the dishes while she took out the clean clothes to dry on the bamboo sticks.
After the final piece was hung up, she discovered a handphone from the washing machine. It was water clogged and clean. “啊,谁的电话在洗衣机?” I turned around and realised that it belongs to my lil brother. Oh boy, the handphone is a goner. My brother and I spent quite some time figuring how to take the casing apart to dry it.
After searching the Internet on how to take it apart, the card (not mine and not in use) that I used to push the clips for the front is a goner too, the site recommended using credit card (the card I used is spoilt, so take any advice from the Internet with a pinch of salt). The tiny chips for the keypad were short-circuited from the looks black metal surrounding them. My guess is that the handphone was still on while being spun and washed with detergent and the water just blew the circuits. The SIM card is still working after testing it on my handphone this morning. We tried to turn the poor handphone on this morning after using the fan to blow it the whole night. Nothing. It seems to have died-ed. It’s now dust-free though.
Now I’ve to figure how to get him a handphone to stand by. So the morale of the story is, make sure ye pockets are empty before washing your clothes!

Can sell it to those rug and rag man. If it can sure work after surviving the wash, I’ll sure get that brand as well.
An excuse to get a new mobile phone!

Now it’s undergoing a drying out period. It’s in front of the fan, how cooling, huh? Hope another day in front of the fan would bring some positive results.

[...] Starhub gives out credits daily and it’s been more than a year, I still haven’t won any credits yet! How long do I have to wait? Maybe I’m too impatient but when a handphone has just gone kaput and you do need the cash to buy a new one, I’m sure you wished that you have some extra dough on hand now. [...]

[...] Anyway, there’s no date of release for this yet since it’s to tease us. I waited for months for the release of K750i and when I bought it, K800i seems like a better option. -_-’ Now, K800i is in the hands of my lil brother. He wants a silver which looks very 007-like. Maybe it’s the theme that comes with it. I think he’s quite happy to have a handphone after waiting for weeks. [...]
