Decorative Toilet Designs10.26.06

These are really pretty toilet designs! Very feminine though. There’re just cut to the size of the toilet bowls and placed on the cover. The floor is covered by a mat of similar design. Wonder if anyone would do the same for their own homes.

Seeing Red10.25.06

I wasn’t prepared to see the SMS asking after my health after so many months of no contact with the bastard. Before replying to the question “Hi, how r u?” I was thinking that the number seems familiar. However, I decided to reply “Erm u r? Dunno ur no.” There was no reply subsequently.

I was still thinking of how it was so familiar because it’s an easy number to remember. Just do a search on his full name and volia! His contact number could be found. I had guessed it right! I don’t know why he would want to know my situation since he was the one who wanted to be free. I had given him the space that he wants. So WTH does he want now?

I won’t know. I find it a relief. Yet, I still want to give him a piece of my mind, scold him. I can only imagine what I’d say if he were to talk to me. I may do something violent to him 1st. God help me.

New Email Account10.25.06

I’ve decided to ditch my commonly used email. Not just because of the spam, it’s been doing quite well since their last upgrading of the anti-spamming tools. I absolutely detest that it’s not compatible with IE 7.
I hate it when I can’t copy and paste information in Firefox even though I’ve enabled copy and paste using the instructions from Mozilla. I had to go back to IE. Now, it’s not compatible because it’s no longer in rich text when I reply or compose a new email! :x
I’ve set up one with unlimited mailbox size, how cool is that? Plus, I get to decide what domain to be used and I love it! I’ve already have 3 for different purposes. No, I won’t put the new email here lest I get spammed. I’ve had enough of those spams about Viagra, increase bust sizes, earn money in a week, yadda yadda. The links usually contain viruses and trojans being downloaded in the backend. You risk getting your email account being used to send out such spams too.

Crowded Trains and Buses10.24.06

Has anyone read today’s ST? The headline news states that we will be pushed to take public transport instead of owning a car. No wonder they’re so happy with the rising oil prices. However, oil prices also affect our groceries’ prices, mind you.

Anyway I digress.

It’s reported that there’s a drop in people taking the public transport. Bus fares recent rise, remember? More people are driving. Have they ever wondered why? The bus frequency is due to the road traffic whenever the public feedback that we have to wait 15 to 45 minutes for a bus. That’s not all, the rising bus fares did not mean any increase in better service such as no sudden brakes, frequent accelerate-brake pedals being depressed, better frequencies or shorter time spent. So why would we be willing to pay more for better services when it’s not being done now? The fares have rised but we don’t see anything else being better.

Web SMS10.23.06

I’ve a love-hate relationship with web sms. Ask me why.

I’ll tell ya why. The timeout sessions. Starhub has a 15-minute timeout. Singtel has a 20-minute timeout. Singtel has a limit of 20 web SMS per Singtel number (can’t they provide a counter so that I know how many I’ve used?). Starhub seems to have a limit too but it’s not stated. Singtel wants to know your email and other details such as what Internet connection you’re using, mobile number and mobile provider. Isn’t that like invading my privacy? Starhub doesn’t.

Singtel allows you to web SMS 3 mobile numbers concurrently. Starhub has only 1.

The only thing I love is that they’re provided free. M1 doesn’t, it still charges you for it. The limit is 3 web SMS. :|
It would also help that there is a timer so that I know how long the session has been idle.

Bluetooth Earpiece Dangers10.22.06

I don’t use bluetooth earpiece. I use bluetooth to transfer my photos from my handphone to my computer. Now, I read this report that your hearing may be in danger of being lost, I’m reconsidering my idea of buying one. It may be tiring to be on the phone for a long period of time, say 10 minutes even if it’s a light handphone.

However, compared to the chances of losing my hearing? I’m not going to risk it. There’s even reports in the past that talking on the handphone for long periods of time directly would affect our health and hearing.

The revenge of technology?

IE 7 Worries10.22.06

I decided to try out IE 7 after deliberating for weeks since its release. Not that I’m very sure when it was released. I was worried about the impact of installing it since I pretty much like Firefox’s tabs.

I was happily following the clicks of the steps when I saw that it needed to validate my version of Windows. What? Why? I don’t have any software to check what’s going on while it validates and after reading Is IE 7 Spying on Me? I am starting to be worried. There’re some suspicious reporting activities back to Microsoft and I’m not happy about it. I don’t want to be identified unless MS decides to have an open survey for MS users and the rules of it are clearly stated.

Deepavali House Visit10.21.06

It’s Deepavali today. I had a last minute call from my friend who informed me that we’re invited to our secondary school classmate’s house. We try to visit her during this time of Deepavali every year, if she calls us. She’s doing henna designs part time and often offers to do it for us, for free
For the past few years, I didn’t let her do it for me because I was not able to wait for the henna to dry. This year, it’s a rare chance for me. I took a long time in deciding which design. Initially, I had wanted something like a band to be put on my upper arm. After flipping through a few more designs, I finally settle on the one below.

Henna both hands

I find them quite nice even if it’s not a mirror image of each other. This design showed only one hand. The original design had a sunflower in the middle where the vines curve. I didn’t like it and told my friend to just draw the vines. I like the end result. However, the guys have nothing to say about the designs. My friend’s husband didn’t comment on it.

My DD on the other hand, said it wasn’t nice. I spent 30 minutes trying to find a design which I would really like and the feedback was it wasn’t nice
I want to buy the Perlini Silver’s bracelet but it costs $79! 8O Don’t know if they’d still sell it during my birthday month where I can get 50% discount :|
